“I can’t.” “I’m too busy.” “I have to do…” These are the statements that I hear from others and catch myself saying daily.
Humans often choose the path of least resistance; we are born to do that. However, we always have a choice. To achieve the successes we are striving for, we have to constantly choose a harder road. But the harder road doesn’t have to be straight up a mountain. It can be as easy as taking the stairs instead of the elevator or grabbing an apple instead of a bag of chips. It can be as easy as picking up the phone to call or text someone that has inspired you lately, or telling the people around you the way they make you feel.
If your goals and ambitions were on “the easy road” then everyone would have them. If getting what you want was a matter of just hanging out and relaxing everyone would have a clean bill of health, six pack abs and a million dollars in their savings account. Obviously, that’s not the case. If you want what others don’t have, you have to choose different actions than what others choose.
Want to achieve something? Raise your standards for yourself and don’t quit until you’ve got it.
